Hi, I’m Jen, the creator behind ZenDesign.

I know what it is to hold a lot of things at once and feel responsible for every one of them. The appointments, the groceries, the birthdays, the work deadlines, the million small things that keep a life moving. Mentally running through tomorrow while dinner is on the stove.

Jen, founder of ZenDesign

Nothing is falling apart. Everything looks fine.

But your mind is quietly full.

We don’t really talk about this part. The tracking. The anticipating. The way it runs underneath everything else and never lands on a to-do list, so there is nothing to point to when someone asks what’s wrong.

It still happens to me. I’ll be standing in the shower, which is supposed to be the one place nothing can reach me, thinking about something I still need to add to a training I’m giving my colleagues tomorrow. I didn’t decide to think about it. It was already there, waiting for me.

For a long time I thought the answer was to get better at carrying it. More planning. Better structure. Stay one step ahead of it all and eventually it would settle.

It never settled. I just got very good at holding more.

Here is what I eventually understood. I didn’t need a better way to hold everything. I needed to hold less of it.

That is what ZenDesign is built around. Not another thing asking something of you. Simple, quiet tools designed to take things off your mind instead of adding to it.

Because you’re not carrying all of this because you’re behind. You’re carrying it because you’re the one who can.

I’m not going to tell you to slow down. Your ambition was never the problem. It’s the noise underneath it.

I believe rest is productive. I believe small changes create real quiet. I believe you can want a lot from your life and still have room to breathe inside it.

If any of that sounds like your mind, you’re in the right place.

I’m building a space for exactly this. It’s called The Room to Breathe, and it isn’t open yet.

If you want to know when it is, leave your email and I’ll come find you.
